Can you believe Christmas is getting so close? 12 weeks my friends!!!
I love everything about Christmas. I would keep a tree up year round, but marriage takes sacrifice…. I love buying and coming up with gifts, but sometimes it does become overwhelming. It’s hard to come up with creative gifts for people who have everything! For the next 12 weeks, I’m going to post gift ideas to ease our way into the Christmas season!
Week 1: Family Cookbooks
Some of my favorite gifts I have ever received are family cookbooks. I have one created using all recipes from my mom’s side of the family, one created from recipes from my dad’s side of the family, and one that my mom made using easy, healthy dinner ideas for my brother and me.
I love that I have tried most of the recipes and can trust that they’ll by good! I know that these books were a lot of work to create…getting recipes from each person, typing them all together, and printing takes time. Worth it!! All families should have books full of their favorite foods!
One book is made using a 1.5 inch binder and printed on nice paper. The other two were made online. Each family member wrote their recipes. The recipes were transcribed exactly as they wrote. It makes it fun to read them!
If you don’t feel like taking on such a huge task, or want to add to your gift, a few of my favorite cookbooks are:
I always love getting cookbooks from local churches or schools. It’s fun to see recipes that other people from our area trust and love!
Thanks for stopping by,
